If it's just Disney, then there's not much point. The reason iTMS succeeded from the start was that it was simple and it had the largest library from which you could purchase single songs. If the iTunes Movie store starts with just Disney movies, then it's dead in the water. Let's just hope that ThinkSecret is wrong again, as usual.
It's a start. What's tricky is the execution itself. Other studios will join the bandwagon like they did with music store.

The OP was ambiguous ... I read it that the weapons used on 9/11 were still not banned. As opposed to not banned at the time.
Hasn't anyone noticed that not a single US plane has been hijacked in the past 10 years? A quick look at Wikipedia shows 7 US planes hijacked in the 1970s, several in the 80s and 90s. Four planes were hijacked in 2001 (all on the same day....) - and then not a single US, European, Japanese plane has been hijacked.
Something is working.....
When was the last time a European or Japanese plane were hijacked before 9/11? That's an ambiguous statistic. Nobody was hijacking planes before and nobody's hijacked planes since.
Nobody hijacks Israeli planes either, and they're subject to much more terrorist attention than we are.
In fact, TSA has twice failed to stop a bomber on a plane since 9/11. Both the shoe bomber and the underwear bomber were stopped by passengers.
TSA's measures aren't working, but a measure of common sense can easily mitigate the damage of someone smuggling a boxcutter or knife on to a plane.

Apple commercials are bright, uplifting and show how technology enhances the human experience. They show people using iPads, iPhones, MacBooks, etc in everyday situations. However Android Zoom, BB Playbook, Tab are dark, joyless with people abducted by aliens, enveloped and overpowered by machines, etc.
I think there's something magical and revolutionary about getting kidnapped by aliens and overpowered by machines. You just don't see that stuff happening too often in life, and we need to enjoy it when it happens.

moved to page 1, not because I necessarily think it was accurate, but because it's gotten wide exposure already and also that while Engadget generally has very low-standards for publishing rumors, this time they are claiming it's reliable...

How long is the keynote speech anyway?
2 hours this time around, which is significantly longer than most keynotes Steve does.

I don't know about the specs or prices, but new and better iPods could kill Zune in it's first season, before m$ completes the lineup with more players and devices.
It may kill the first iteration of the Zune, but MS has stated its a multiple years effort they acknowledge its going to be hard to beat the iPod bastion, and if at all possible it will take time. But, I suspect Apple have plenty of different prototypes in their labs, ready to be launched to complement new market demands.

Jail time for strikers is bizarre and totally unacceptable.
Additionally there is no way you can claim that it is a "individual liberty" position to hold to be for jailing strikers.
You should know by noe that fivepoint is only interested in individual freedom when it's an issue he agrees with.

Happy BD keynote?!
They didn't even put up a small square on their Mac sub-page.
I do hope OS X still has a good 10 years in front of it. The best of both worlds for Unix people.

lets hope we get new MBPs before Macworld in Jan!
in Jan i hope to get iTV, iLife '07, Leopard and maybe an iPhone
I would like to see iTV a cross between Tivo and Front Row
There is not much i would like to see added to iLife but i bet Steve will make my buy it
Not going to be like a Tivo. Not at the price point that Apple was talking about...

Jared1988,
where did you get those? Did you make them?
My mom and I would love some!
We already have those rubber bracelets but we have very tiny wrists.

oh man. that's not good. what flags are you using?
-smp 12?
yeah, -smp 12 but one core now shows minimal use. Before I restarted it it showed 4 cores with minimal usage... I'm going to try tossing the config file and see what happens. And of course it loses the wu each time I shut folding down.

But Apple admitted that it DOES drop more calls than 3GS.
They spun it as "less than 1 per 100", but assuming all 3,000,000 iPhone 4 users make about 5 calls per day, that's over ONE MILLION dropped calls per week MORE than iPhone 3GS.
It's a problem.
It's been reproduced by CNET, Consumer Reports, NYT, and many others.
The debate here is not whether there's a problem, but why Apple is obfuscating, rather than fixing it, pretending that bridging the gap of their electrically exposed antenna is equivalent to attenuating an antenna by completely covering it with one's meaty hand.
(seems like moving this gap to the bottom edge of the phone where it's far less likely to be touched, would be an easy fix).
Umm, that's still less than 1%. That's pretty good. That would be out of 100 million calls. 99 million calls were fine.

I would be perfectly okay if Infinity Ward spent 10 months on nothing but multiplayer.
Campaigns are great and all, but the development time they take is not worth the amount of gameplay you get compared to multiplayer.

Is Windows 8 then Windows 7.0, like Windows Seven is actually Windows 6.1?
Thats just the NT version. Windows 8 will be 6.2
7 was 6.1,
Vista was 6.0
XP was 5.0
Technically Windows 7 is the 10th version of Windows, if you don't count Windows Server.
Windows 7 is the 7th version if you count from Windows 95.

I've never, ever had a conversation about my phone with a random person in the street - let alone conduct comparison tests.
I'm guessing from your thread that you porbably love the iphone a bit too much... Get out and enjoy the world. Perhaps leave the phone at home!
This.
Oh please! I think that statement would be better targeted at the people who engage in this childish behaviour. I was just the recipient, also they weren't total strangers, but they weren't people that I know either.
Also, quite a few people in this thread say that these phones are the same price, well one of the main points of one of these guys was that he paid 100 for his brand new Desire and is on a 18 a month contract. In all honesty, that is a lot cheaper than any iPhone deal out there.
You're the one who took the time out of your day to start this thread and respond, lol.
This, actually, is my biggest concern: That Apple will just be smug enough to think they don't need to do anything with the design.
They did that with the iPhone and the touch and they're going to do it again. When is the question.

This is the Mac mini of houses at best.
Wow. Some of you really are hooked on the bigger is better buzz.
Seriously, get out and see some of the world. Perspective people. The world is NOT just the US.
Anyone tootin' on these forums (including myself) can consider themselves truly blessed.
A Mac mini house..? Hardly. It's a mansion by any worldly measure.

Actually I have seen a number of explanations on this thread from people who use Windows more than myself. The answer to why it is "7" does not seem to be well known even to Windows users.
Really its not brain surgery.
Windows 1.0, 2.0, 3.0, 4.0, XP (5.0), Vista (6.0), Windows 7 (7.0).
